Lots and lots of snow!

Been busy for a while finishing illustrations that will be appearing in the next edition of 'New Fairy Tales' (check out the link!).  Now they are done, and i'm moving onto another personal illustration, an idea I had since the beginning of November and was desperately excited to start.  But I can't go without mentioning the amazing amount of snow we have experienced over these past 4 days.  Now usually snow never starts until after the new year; those 'white Christmases' are largely a thing of myth here - but we have had a huge amount so far - it easily reached up to my knees when I was out walking - and there's more to come apparently, with temperatures reaching -20.  So naturally I have taken a few pictures to share with you all...
(This one turned out nice, the snow melting on the lens as I was taking pictures gave the edges of the photo a sort of dreamlike quality)
I love those last few splashes of Autumn colour contrasting with the white - and of course the red is very festive!
I had no idea what this was sticking out of a field.  Must be an upturned bit of machinery or cart, or something..
You may wonder why I took a picture of this.  Well Aberdeen is a noisy place, even outside of the city due to the airport, passing helicopters and the drone of the distant traffic.  But the snowstorms blocked out all noise, leaving quite an eery silence.  But as I passed this thing you could hear the deadly hum of electric, and fizzing sounds, as though every piece of snow that fell onto the lines was being electrocuted.  Kind of unsettling.
For once this country road was deserted, leaving me free to walk along it and enjoy myself without fear of being ploughed down by some twit in a Subaru.
Here's hoping to a long and magical snowfall for each and every one of you out there!

There are now sets of 5 red and green Christmas cards up in my Etsy shop, featuring one of each design.  I will also be adding larger single cards of the same designs, and cards featuring 'March of the Sugar Plum Mice'.

Save our forests, coastlines and dairy cows!

Perhaps the things I feel most strongly about in this world are animal rights and the preservation of our(and the rest of the worlds')beautiful landscapes.  Help prevent the destruction of our forests, which may be sold off to private firms resulting in holiday villages and unnecessary golf courses *coughTrumpcough*, and life imprisonment for our dairy cows through intensive factory farming.
And speaking of unnecessary golf courses, save some beautiful Scottish coastline and it's wildlife from oblivion and the residents from forced eviction from their homes -
Stop Trumps Golf Complex.
